Sketch Book

I have been excessively nomadic over the past few years.  During this time I thought that I was not an artist anymore.  Years later I realized that I had been practicing as a creative person by always keeping a sketchbook.

In my mind, the sketchbook had never fallen under the category of "Art", it did not seem serious or important.  Looking back on these books, I have realized that they contain the threads of my art.  I now see through the frustration of "not being able to make" during the traveling years.  I see that no matter the circumstances, I will continue to make and forge ahead as a creative person.

My sketchbook has changed the way I think about my art practice and creativity.  It is: sanctuary, potential, therapy and constant.  It is a very important book.
